CAMA LAW IS CRUEL – Foremost Gospel Singer, Apostle Timi Orokoya

The Church will never accept the CAMA law to operate in Nigeria for so many reasons. Many prominent pastors and individuals have raised alarms on this and I am adding my voice as one of the elders in the gospel music ministry in Nigeria.

I really don’t believe there were due consultations or genuine and credible advisory committee supervising this constitution reviews and drafting.

We are not saying offenders should not be brought to book but going through the provision and executions in this CAMA law, one will see how cruel and wicked it is.

The drafting is cruel and evil minded. How can you prosecute someone on allegations not proven, what if it is a wrong or evil minded allegation?

We are not unaware of people running NGO for self interest but the CAMA law has gone too far. It has to be revisited. A badly drafted law will badly affect those concerned. Let the government handle individuals caught by law and not generalizing Church.

In my submission, I am of the opinion that the government should first design a welfare package or structure for the Church and all these genuine Non Governmental Organizations, instead of waking up one day with this axe.

You can smoothly interfere in the affairs of someone you have impacted. To whom much is given, much is expected. So I stand by those who say NO to badly drafted CAMA Law.
